So goddamn tired. This video assignment for Chinese is to blame. Filmed it last night only to find I couldn't find the firewire cable to get the footage off the camera, and it was due 2pm today. One of these days I'm gonna learn to plan ahead, I swear.
So I did everything I could do without the footage, finally getting to bed around 3:30am, and got up early to get a cable. A few hours later it was all finished, but not before I had some issues with burning the damn thing to dvd. Goddamn technology.
I may release the video if Ying approves. I think it turned out pretty good in the end, considering the short amount of time spent on it. Heh. |

Ok, so I got curious and decided to look up the origins of the word "Soccer" and found this:
Soccer is an abbreviation for Association Football. The Football Association was formed in London in October 1863 when representatives of eleven clubs and schools met in an attempt to standardize the rules of the game. One of the rules prohibited the carrying of the ball, a rule that would lead to the Rugby-oriented clubs leaving the Association several months later. The name Association Football was coined to distinguish it from Rugby.
By 1889, the abbreviation socca' was in use, and the spelling soccer had made its appearance by 1895.
Who knows how accurate it is, but there you go. |

Ian's Birthday Casino jaunt planned for tomorrow night is probably gonna have to be cancelled.
I have to work 3pm-11pm all this week, so I'll most likely be too tired.
I've also been waking up at 7am without fail recently, which is damn weird, and as a result I've been getting tired around 9 or 10pm.
So yeah. Probably not gonna happen.
I don't think too many people actually knew about it anyway, so no huge loss. :D
I'll plan something for the weekend perhaps. |
